Panama’s Second Cruise Terminal is almost finished

In October 2017, Cruceros del Pacifico starting building the new Cruise Ship Terminal at the entrance of the Panama Canal in Panama City, Panama. The new cruise ship terminal will be located on the Amador and is the second cruise ship terminal in Panama. The primary cruise ship terminal of Panama is Port Colon.

The Amador is an artificial causeway created by connecting 4 small islands just in front of Panama City and at the entrance of the Panama Canal. The new cruise ship terminal is managed by the Panama Maritime Authority and will have an initial capacity to receive two mega-ships and to manage up to five million passengers. Each of these mega-ships possesses a maximum capacity of 6300 passengers!

The terminal which consists of one pier has the capacity to handle up to 10,000 passengers at the same time. The terminal is expected to be operative by October 2019. Without a doubt, this new $ 165 million cruise ship terminal promises to have an enormous impact on Panama’s tourism market.
